¿What is an MBP?

It’s a professional in the art of balloon decoration, recognized by Sempertex, that has successfully completed the recognition program under the decoration standards established by the company.

How is it achieved?

To obtain the MBP certification, you must pass a practical exam that is held on specific dates.

Aspects to Evaluate

Free Creativity

Each participant must bring their own Sempertex balloons.
Create two original designs, each using at least three different balloon sizes.
New! Deliver a Marketing Proposal and a Cost Template for one decoration. *Starting May 1, 2026.

Required Projects:

Centerpiece (max 10 points)
Personal design (max 10 points)
Marketing Proposal (max 5 points)
Cost Template (max 5 points)

Decoration at the Judge’s Request

The candidate must complete 3 real-time projects using balloons provided by Sempertex .

Required Projects:

Skill with round balloons: Alternating-size column, flat column, 2x2 column, 5- or 6-balloon cluster, among others (max 20 points)
Link-O-Loon® designs (max 20 points)
Organic design (max 20 points)
Handling of basic tools: inflator, sizer, valve, and helium tank. (max 10 points)

Marketing Proposal

For either of the two free creativityprojects, the candidate must present a marketing proposal based on the tools and knowledge from the marketing module.

Aspects to Evaluate:

Application of marketing principles

Clear and understandable message
Focus on target customer
Inclusion of digital marketing criteria

Job Cost Form

For one of the two free creativity projects, the candidate must present a job cost form using the information provided in the cost module.

Aspects to Evaluate:

Breakdown of materials
Correct calculation of fixed and variable costs
Proper application of the pricing formula
Clarity of the final cost

It is essential to arrive 30 minutes before the exam.

To obtain the recognition, the participant must pass the exam with a minimum of 85 points.

The jury evaluates according to the standards defined by Sempertex.

The candidate must bring a printed copy of the job cost form and marketing form.

The candidate must bring their own Sempertex balloons for Free Creativity section.
