Welcome to Sempertex
Since 1938, in Barranquilla, a seaport on the coast of the Caribbean Sea, the manufacture of high-quality balloons began in Colombia at the initiative of Emil Loewy, a native of Austria. Over the years this initiative took shape until it became Sempertex SA, a world leader in latex balloons for decoration and entertainment.

Our products comply with Directive 2009/48 / EC, Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) / Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 (REACH) of the European Union, Portarias 563 of 12/29/2019 and Portaria 118 of 03/06/2015 of Brazil and UK Toy Safety regulations which regulate compliance for the safety and conformity of toys for all balloons that are manufactured, imported and commercialized in their territories. The tests were carried out under the International Standard, EN71-1, EN 71-2, EN 71-3. Additionally, we comply with the standards EN 71-9, EN 71-12. These tests analyze MECHANICAL AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES, FLAMMABILITY, MIGRATION OF PHYSICAL ELEMENTS, NITROSAMINES AND HEAVY METALS.
Our balloons made of TMTD free natural rubber latex formula, which guarantee the formation of an elastic film with good mechanical properties, which allows the balloon to have the appropriate degree of stretch for inflation and knotting. The formulation does not contain fillers, extenders, or plasticizers. Inks used on these balloons conform to government standards that relate to children's toys.
Our processes are certified under ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 where we strengthen our commitment to satisfy the needs of our clients, offering them a high quality product and excellent service, through safe processes for our customers. collaborators and friendly to the environment. The scope of our comprehensive management system includes the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of latex balloons and marketing of party supplies.
We have BASC Certification, this standard is governed by the CTPAT guidelines and requirements of the United States government, which guarantees security in our supply chain and international trade activities, focused on minimizing the risks of drug trafficking, financing of terrorism, money laundering and any other illicit activity in our exports and imports.
Our balloons comply with all the technical specifications related to the design and color of the Disney characters. We also, comply with the CODE OF ETHICS AND CONDUCT FOR MANUFACTURERS which demands the safety, well-being of our employees and the protection of the Environment.
Sempertex is proud to announce the certification FSC Chain of Custody, ensuring the necessary controls to offer a latex-based product sourced from responsibly managed forests.
Our balloons do not have fillers and/or plasticizing elements, which reduce manufacturing costs by acting as fillers, reducing latex content, and potentially increasing biodegradation times. Like Sempertex balloons, the inks we use to manufacture printed balloons are made from a mixture of harmless and non-toxic substances, which makes them safe for use.
